Mr. James Nelson Stone, Clayton, NC, departed this life on Saturday, May 9, 2026.  Funeral services  will be 11:30am Wednesday, May 13, 2026  at Johnston Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 1691 Barber Mill Rd, Clayton, NC 27520. Visitation, 11:00 am to 11:30am, prior to the service. A Public Viewing will be from 1p-6p on  Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at Hood Funeral Home in the Walter and Cora Hood Memorial Chapel.

The Family will receive visitors Monday, May 11 and Tuesday, May 12 at 101 Duba Ct Clayton, NC from 3:00 pm -7:00pm.

Nelson is survived by his devoted wife Pauline Lane Stone of the home, Daughters, Nadia Lane Stone, Martinsburg, WV, and Nina Stone Russell (Joel Sr.), Clayton, NC; son Douglas Williams, Raleigh,NC, Sisters, Horstine Lynch (Eugene), Raleigh, NC and  Shelia Sutton, Wendell, NC, 5 grandchildren  and 3 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
