Our Master gently whispered these words to our loved one, Alene Smith Stith, on June 2, 2020.
Alene Smith Stith was born July 19, 1928 in Johnston County, North Carolina, to the late Patrick Avery and Martha Smith Avery.
Alene was an active member of St. Augustine AME Church until her health declined.
Alene completed her education in the Johnston County School System. She was employed by Clayton Spinning and Champion Products where she later retired.
Alene was a stylish lady and will be remembered for her homemade biscuits, cakes and fried chicken. She enjoyed attending church, beautifying her lawn and listening to her gospel music on WLLE.
In addition to her parents, Alene was preceded in death by her husband Fred Stith; her children Morris Stith, Barbara West and Kenneth Stith; her siblings Joseph Smith, Geraldine Smith and Louis Smith.
Alene leaves to cherish her memories her daughter Gloria Barbour; grandchildren Donna Watson (Kenneth), LaTanja Perkins (Jody), Shanta Smith, Vena Campbell, Sharen Hagens, Pamela Marsh (Norman), Albert Hagens Jr., Saalik Stith (Camilla), Tamika Jenkins, LaTania Dunkins (Terrance), Rachel Moon (Soon) and Benjamin Stith (Jessica); thirty-five (35) great grandchildren; a host of great-great grandchildren; one nephew Billy Smith (Cheryl); and a host of great-great nieces, nephews, cousins and family.
Your memory is a keepsake with which we shall never part.
Though God has you in His keeping, we shall have you in our hearts.
